Monkey Class Rocks! (And Rolls into Summer!)
Dear Monkey Class Families,
I can't believe this will be my final blog post, and tomorrow marks our last day of the school year! The year has truly flown by, and while I'm certainly looking forward to the upcoming holiday, I feel a mixture of emotions.
First, I am so incredibly proud of all the Monkey children. Each and every one of them has shown tremendous growth this year, and in so many different areas. The children started the year unfamiliar with their classmates and teachers, and together we've developed a beautiful community – one where each child is valued, loved, and appreciated. New friendships have blossomed, and with those new friendships, we've seen growing confidence, stronger ideas, and clear opinions, which has also meant learning how to navigate conflict together.
I've watched the children support and help each other, celebrate each other's growth, and simply "be there." Coming to school each day is an absolute joy for me. Our Monkey Class is always filled with a lively energy and happiness. Of course, there have been tears along the way, and not all days are perfect, but every day we all – teachers included – showed up as ourselves. This last week, I've taken a step back to just let the children be, and it has been beautiful to watch them engage with one another, to play and share. While the classroom might be noisier, it's the noise of confidence, collaboration, thinking, and a community that has truly flourished and grown.
As I reflect, I know that it takes a village. This year, and these amazing children, would not be where they are without the incredible support from our parents and families at home. Thank you for always being available to connect and discuss each child's progress. Thank you for participating and sharing your home photos with our class. Thank you for all you do; I am truly grateful to have such an incredible parent community.
As we wrap up the year, with a mixture of emotions – sad to say goodbye but so incredibly proud and grateful that I could be on this journey with you all – I wish you all a fabulous summer holiday. I hope parents will also be able to take a break and enjoy making new memories. I know the children are definitely ready for K2, as many are already declaring, "Robyn, I'm a Tiger!"... or a Turtle, or a Gecko! I gently remind them they are a Monkey for just a little while longer.
Luckily for me, I'll still get to see many of you in K2 next year. And for those who will be transferring to new schools, I wish you all the very best, and may our paths cross again in the future.
So, as we embark on new adventures, remember to be safe, be kind, and take care!
Relive the Memories!
As the year draws to a close, I have shared almost all the albums with you so you can take a moment to look back at all the wonderful moments we've shared! And I couldn't resist making one last video of us all together, click on the links below to watch.
