Building Community in Monkey Class
Dear Monkey Class Families,
The children have settled in wonderfully, and we had fantastic whole-class sessions this week. They seem more than ready for the upcoming transition to the three-hour schedule starting on Monday. As we look ahead to the coming weeks, our focus will be on fostering independence, sharing, taking turns, using their words to express needs, and getting used to our class schedule. It's natural to expect a few challenges and tears as they adjust to the new routine and school life. Rest assured, we'll be right there to support each child and meet them where they are.
Additionally, we will delve into getting to know one another better and exploring our individual interests and connections as part of our "Who We Are" unit of inquiry. I am excited to witness the growth of the children's confidence, independent thinking, communication skills, and lifelong curiosity through hands-on learning and play!
As we embark on this learning journey together this year, I wanted to share a quote that resonates deeply with my teaching philosophy:
"Don't compare your child to others. There's no comparison between the sun and the moon. They shine when it's their time."
Embracing a holistic approach to education, I believe in nurturing each child's uniqueness and helping them be their personal best. I also believe that teamwork is at the forefront of helping each child grow both at school and outside. I look forward to working with each and every one of you throughout the school year. With that being said, please don't hesitate to contact me should you ever have any questions or wonderings.
