Welcome to our Monkey Class Blog
Dear Monkey Class Families,
Welcome to our Monkey Class blog. We have had a very successful first week with the children, and I am so incredibly proud of all of them. And while there are still a few tears, this is perfectly normal, and we anticipate there may be a few more when we transition to school bus and the three-hour routine, but I promise we will be there to help and support each individual child.
Next week, we will slowly move to the whole-class sessions, and since it is still only two hours, our schedule will be flexible to allow the children to continue to settle. Every session will, however, include time for snack if the children wish to do so, toilet time, and a variety of small group activities, free play, and a circle time. Parents are welcome to send the children to school on the school bus if they wish to do so; however, we will need an adult to pick them up after the 2-hour session, so this would mean 10:45 AM for the morning class and 3:00 PM for the afternoon class.
I know parents are curious about our class schedule once we move to 3 hours in September, so I have included our class timetable below. We will have Chinese day every Monday, and Library day will be every Thursday.
Please note that at the start of the school year, we will visit the school library but will not start borrowing books until after mid-term break. I will, however, let parents know when we start this, so there is no need to send in the book bags at this stage. We will also have a dedicated playground day to support the children with using the stairs and familiarising themselves with the playground. I will let parents know once we start accessing the playground daily.
Google Photo Albums
Please click the links below to access the class Google albums. I will continue to update these albums in the coming week.
Family photos
If you have not yet sent in a family photo, I would really appreciate it if you can do this before the end of next week. This is a great way for children to share information with each other and make connections with their classmates. I will also be using these photos for learning engagements throughout the term.
Please click the links below to upload your photos; however, if it is easier, you are welcome to email the photos directly to me.
Lastly, a super big round of applause to all the children for being absolute superstars this week! I am so incredibly proud of each and every one of them.
And to the parents, you all deserve high-fives as well. I know it's never easy saying goodbye to your child at the start of the school year, but you've all handled it with such grace and positivity. Your support has been invaluable, and it's made this transition so much smoother for the children.
Thank you all for an amazing first week. Have a great weekend and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for our Monkey Class! Here's to many more wonderful memories to come.
